Fishy Story A number of expensive Koi carp were imported to the UK and subsequently died. Kalagate was asked to examine imagery of the fish in order to establish their country of origin (exotic fish are photographed for insurance purposes). Scale patterns, size and shape were examined. Interestingly, the unique scale patterns on Koi carp eventually led analysts to conclude that the UK fish and that photographed in Israel were the same animal. This subsequently provided evidence in support of a possible civil lawsuit.
